FAQs
About Executive Function Coaching
Q: What is executive function coaching?
A: Executive function coaching helps students develop skills like organization, time management, focus, and self-advocacy. At Ms. Weiss Learning Lab, we teach students to plan effectively, stay on track, and build habits that lead to long-term success in school and life.
Q: How is executive function coaching different from tutoring?
A: Tutoring focuses on subject-specific content. Executive function coaching builds the skills students need to manage all subjects—planning, prioritizing, task initiation, and follow-through—so they become independent learners.
Q: Is this coaching only for students with ADHD or learning differences?
A: No. While many students with ADHD benefit from executive function support, our coaching helps all students who want to improve organization, study strategies, and college readiness.
High School & College Transition
Q: How can you help my high school student prepare for college?
A: We provide targeted coaching to build independence, teach self-advocacy, and prepare students for managing their own schedules, assignments, and campus resources—skills that are critical for a successful transition to college.
Q: My student is already in college and struggling. Can you help?
A: Yes! Many college freshmen realize they need more support than expected. We offer virtual coaching, digital organization tools, and accountability systems to help students regain confidence and academic control.
Q: What is included in your College Success Assessment?
A: Our assessment evaluates time management, organization, mindset, self-advocacy, and life skills, followed by a 30-minute review session with actionable recommendations.
Pricing & Policies
Q: Why do you require a semester commitment for membership?
A: Building executive function skills takes consistency over time. A semester commitment ensures students have the structure and accountability needed for real progress.
Q: Do you offer refunds if my student stops attending their membership?
A: No. All memberships are semester-based, and families are responsible for the full semester fee, even if they discontinue services early.
Q: Are there any fees for missed appointments?
A: Yes. Students can reschedule one missed session per semester at no cost. Any additional missed or late-canceled sessions incur a $50 fee, charged in addition to the monthly membership fee.
Parent Support
Q: Can parents be involved in the coaching process?
A: Yes! Parent involvement is encouraged. For students enrolled in our coaching plans, one session per month may be replaced by a Parent/Team Meeting to align goals and discuss progress. For college students, we work together to determine the right frequency for parent updates.
Parents can also access additional support through our Parent Partnership Membership, which includes monthly e-books, access to the monthly masterclass, a parent-focused newsletter, and a guided book group with three Zoom discussions per semester. This program helps parents strengthen their own strategies for supporting their teen’s growth and independence.
Q: What is the Guided Parent Book Group?
A: The Guided Parent Book Group is part of our Parent Partnership Membership. Each semester, we select a parenting book that aligns with teen development and executive function growth. Members participate in three live Zoom discussions to share insights and strategies, guided by Ann Weiss. This collaborative experience helps parents feel connected, supported, and better equipped to guide their teens through high school and college success.

Q: Do you offer à la carte services?
A: Yes! Families can book individual sessions like digital organization setup, syllabus planning, or parent coaching calls without a membership. All à la carte services are paid in advance and non-refundable.
Q: Do you provide in-person coaching?
A: Currently, all services are offered virtually, allowing us to support students across different states and time zones.
